JOB SUMMARY
Support and assist Sales Manager I or II - Direct Sales in managing
the day-to-day activities of the Direct Sales Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Contribute to the Company vision of being the industry leader in
customer service through quality, commitment, courtesy and teamwork
Responsible for meeting and exceeding budgeted sales goals
Supervise a team of Direct Sales staff and contract personnel.
Direct reports may include Sales Representative Specialists & Generalists as well as contractors.
May also manage other sales resources as assigned (i.e. MDU Sales Representatives).
Assist Sales Manager in developing and implementing motivation and
incentive plans, sales materials, forms and procedures
Recruit, interview, hire and train Direct Sales staff
Handle territory assignments for residential and potentially MDU
Sales Representatives
Handle personnel issues, including performance appraisals, coaching,
safety training, etc.
Assist with budget preparation and provide input on marketing issues
and sales offers
Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A. Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and
straightforward manner
Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e.
word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)
Knowledge of cable television products and services, preferred
Knowledge of Direct Sales practices
Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to
adjust focus
B. Education (level and type)
Bachelor´s degree in business or marketing, or equivalent experience
required.
C. Related Work Experience
Number Of Years Sales experience 1
Sales Supervisory experience preferred
Telecommunications and cable industry experience preferred
D. Certifications and/or Licenses
Valid driver´s license, satisfactory driving record within Company
required standards and auto insurance
WORKING CONDITIONS
Office environment
Travel as required
Supervisory background, Telecommunications preferred, outside sales,
training, motivation, handle multiple tasks and projects,
exceptional sales and coaching developmental skills, knowledge of
P&L, budgets.
